Cris Ruiz, a catcher from Bridgeport, CT, has committed to attend and play baseball at Saint Thomas Aquinas College. He joins his BVSA Fury 18u teammate Anthony Dimeglio as the first two of the Scouted Sports class of 2015 announcing their commitment to play college baseball.
Anthony Dimeglio, 3 year varsity catcher and RHP from Darien, CT, has committed to attend and play baseball at Fordham University. He is the first of the Scouted Sports class of 2015 to commit to play college baseball.
Fordham University is a private, Jesuit university that has 15,000 students over three campuses, two in New York City and one in Harrison in nearby Westchester county. Fordham, a Division 1 school, is a member of the academically renowned Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10), and an associate member of the equally prestigious Patriot League.
This past year, Dimeglio stood out both on offense and defense batting for a .356 average and a .999 On-base plus Slugging. He was a big part of Darien’s 17-6 record this past year, including a game versus Greenwich where he went 3-3 with a single, triple and a walk off homerun. Behind the dish, he only made a single error all year, making him one of the premier game-controlling catchers in Connecticut.
DiMeglio will join a rising Fordham team that improved its record this past year and looks to be a top contender in the A-10 Conference this upcoming year.
Congratulations to Anthony for this huge decision, and congratulations to the DiMeglio family for supporting Anthony through his rise in baseball. He is a young man with a bright future ahead of him!

We have chosen Ronald Jackson as our Recruit of the Month because of his amazing resilience to overcome many unique obstacles to get where he is today. Ronald is a baseball player at Westhill High School in Stamford, CT and will graduate this year. He spent last school year in the Dominican Republic taking care of his sick grandmother who raised him. He returned this past fall and was able to win his appeal to be eligible to play for Coach Mulvany at Westhill this spring. He has also maintained straight A's this past year since returning from the DR.
We met Ronald this past winter during his training at Bobby Valentine's Sports Academy. Ronald can be seen below showing glimpses of his mission to be ready for this spring season. The background audio is Eric Thomas's "When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful" and it perfectly describes Ronald's work ethic! Ronald brought the players in the BVSA Fury Winter Workouts to a whole new level with his competitive spirit and leadership qualities. We wanted to share this video because Ronald's work ethic is hard to teach. Hopefully he can inspire you to get yourself recruited!!
Scouted Sport's first recruit of the month is William Twomey from Ridgefield, CT. Will has a 4.03 GPA and is one of the hardest working student athletes at St. Luke's School in New Canaan. Will is interested in playing baseball and continuing his education in the NESCAC. Below is an athletic profile that Will put together on his own and has been using to introduce himself to coaches. Will is a great example of what it takes to get recruited. His GPA, test scores, work ethic, adaptability, leadership qualities, and drive to improve make him a great candidate to play college baseball. As a sophomore Will earned varsity playing time behind the plate after the St. Luke's starter got hurt. Even though Will had never caught before, he hopped right in and commanded the pitching staff and defense like a pro. So far this year, Will has played every inning and multiple positions. We are confident that Will has what it takes to contribute to what ever organization is lucky enough to grab him first. We are looking forward to promoting Will's journey of getting himself recruited.
