Anthony Conte

Born and raised in Stamford, CT, Anthony Conte was a catcher for Trinity Catholic High School. Coach Conte has coached one of BVSA’s travel teams in every season for the last five years. In an effort to expose local players to a larger sample of competition than just Fairfield County, he has taken Fury teams to California, Myrtle Beach, Aberdeen, Long Island and Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Florida. This past fall his 18u Fury team had a 9-5 record, 2 semifinalist finishes, 1 finalist finish, had 3 players commit to play baseball in college and 3 more close behind. Coach Conte is also a General Director at Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy (BVSA). head varsity baseball coach and substitute teacher at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan.

He grew up in various batting cages throughout Fairfield County. Anthony started at Triple Crown Baseball Academy in Stamford, CT, when that closed he moved to Integrated Sports Training in Norwalk, CT. Unable to afford private lessons, he would catch bullpens for instructors, help out any other way he could, and absorb information from professionals daily.

At the age of 16 he found his home at BVSA. He learned the technique’s of the National Pitching Association while being mentored by Mark Lacerenza. Over the next few years, Coach Conte picked up the the hitting and fielding curriculum from the rest of the professional coaches at BVSA. Now, he is easily one of the most requested and dedicated coaches at BVSA, he has created his own narrative that eclipses his playing career ten fold. No major accolades as a high school athlete, no college career, but a passion for education and imparting knowledge and respect onto every player he encounters. Using his Bachelors Degree in Psychology as a graduate from the University of Connecticut, Coach Conte has a knack for helping players understand his message and helping them progress both mentally and physically as athletes. He is committed to helping student athletes reach their potential and prepare them for the next stage of their lives, by teaching them to live in the moment.
